Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T

ACETOXY CURING, UNIVERSAL SILICONE SEALANT

Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T is a one part, acetoxy moisture curing universal silicone sealant.

  • Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T has been specifically formulated as a sanitary sealant for use in hot humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms where resistance to fungal growth is necessary.
  • Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T is easily extruded and its rapid curing characteristics enable units to be quickly sealed and put into service. Its smooth, glossy appearance compliments glazed sanitary ware and ceramic tiles.
  • Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T adheres without primer to glass, ceramic, vitreous, surfaces, painted surfaces and anodized aluminium. It offers good resistance to most common cleaning products.

Usage

Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T can be used on all weatherproofing or bonding applications where protection against fungal growth is sought, such as:
  • Jointing baths, sinks, showers, kitchen furniture, urinals...
  • Jointing ceramic tiles, plumbing fixtures or cold rooms.

Shelf life

Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of production, if it is stored in undamaged, original,sealed packaging and if the storage conditions are met.

Storage conditions

Sikasil® MultiPlus/-T shall be stored in dry conditions where it is protected from direct sunlight and at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C.

Joint design

The joint width must be designed to suit the joint movement required and the movement capability of the sealant. For joints between 6 mm to 12 mm wide, a seal depth of 6 mm is recommended.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The joint faces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease, old sealant and any traces of contaminant which may affect   adhesion. Surfaces should be degreased with solvent soaked cloth and then wiped with a clean cloth. To remove dust, use oilfree compressed air.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika® TopClean-T / Colma Cleaner immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be mechanically removed.
