SikaGrind®-1 EXP

Cement additive

SikaGrind®-1 EXP is a liquid, chloride-free cement additive. SikaGrind®-1 EXP facilitates the grinding and improves the quality of all cement types. SikaGrind®-1 EXP has specially developed to increase the early and final mechanical strengths.

SikaGrind®-1 EXP is a very effective dispersant with the following characteristics:
  •  Reduction of the agglomeration forces on the particle surface
  •  Reduction of the particle attraction
SikaGrind®-1 EXPprovides the following advantages in the cement production:
  •  Increases the efficiency of the separator, thanks to good dispersion
  •  Required fineness is faster achieved
  •  Reduced share of oversize particles
  •  Lower coating of balls and mill interior with cement
  •  Lower specific grinding energy (kWh/t), cost reduction
  •  Improved powder flowability, therefore easier handling
SikaGrind®-1 EXPSikaGrind®-1 EXP gives the following advantages to the finished cement:
  •  Reduced handling/transport cost, especially in air slide channel
  •  Easy discharge of silos
  •  Optimised particle distribution, less over-ground
  •  Increased early and final mechanical strength
  •  Can be used to reduce the clinker factor, therefore economic earnings

Usage

SikaGrind®-1 EXP is used for cement grinding in order to:
  •  Increase the productivity
  •  Improve the efficiency off the mill and the separator
  •  Improve the cement quality

Blend of amines.

Shelf life

12 months from date of production.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened and sealed original containers at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C. Protect from frost, direct sunlight and contamination.

Note: When delivered in bulk, the tanks and equipment used must be free from contaminants.

Compatibility

Cements treated with SikaGrind®-1 EXP are compatible in concretes produced with all commercial admixtures including air entrainers, water reducers, retarders and superplasticizers. The performance of concrete admixtures are not adversely affected by the use of SikaGrind®-1 EXP.

DISPENSING

SikaGrind®-1 EXP is added onto the clinker feed shortly before the mill entrance or directly into the grinding mill. Suitable dosage pumps with adjustable flow rates shall be used for accurate dosing.
Note: Periodically, the end of the additive tube/hose shall be checked to ensure that it is not blocked!
Consumption

Recommended dosage

The typical dosage rate of SikaGrind®-1 EXP is 0.4 – 1 kg per tonne of cement (0.04-0.1 % of total weight = cement clinker + additions). The optimum dosage to achieve the desired characteristics shall be determined in plant trials. Influencing factors are e.g. the properties of clinker, SCM and other plant variables.
For consistent results, SikaGrind®-1 EXP must be accurately dispensed.
